Laser Treatments

As the world leader in light – based aesthetic technologies, Candela continues to set the standard for innovation and performance.

We use CANDELA’s GentleMAX – a new integrated aesthetic system which has two gold standard lasers:

GentleYAG, the fastest and most powerful Nd: Yag 1064 nm laser on the market, effectively treats all skin types (including tanned skin), for permanent hair reduction, leg and facial veins, wrinkles and skin tightening.

GentleLASE, Alexandrite 755 nm laser is the premier treatment for unwanted hair, pigmented and vascular lesions and wrinkles.

Apart from the above mentioned treatments, our system can treat Pseudo-folliculitis barbae, Port Wine Stain, Haemangioma, Cherry angiomas, Venous lakes, Sun spots, Age spots, Freckles, Melasma, Blue naevi, Seborrhoeic keratosis, warts etc.

There are other multiple- wavelength systems in other clinics, but none come close to the efficiency, speed and versatility of our laser systems.

From chilled air technology to Candela’s integrated and patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) that utilises burst of CRYOGEN before and after the laser pulse to offer unparalleled client comfort.

Laser treatments are a safe, fast and effective alternative method for the removal of unwanted hair.

We use CANDELA’s Nd: Yag and Alexandrite laser devices which are highly precise for effective reduction of unwanted hair (we do not use IPL – Intense Pulse light devices). During the procedure, laser beam pulses are targeted at the hair’s pigment for a fraction of a second – just long enough to heat up the hair root leaving the normal skin unharmed, significantly impedes the hair’s ability to re-grow. Our lasers are safe in all skin types, starting from lighter skin to dark skin.

The procedure is almost painless as our lasers incorporate ‘Dynamic Cooling Device’ (DCD) technology and the results are proved excellent. Please visit our clinic or book a free consultation with the doctor.

Things to expect during the treatment:

Treatments are performed by a Professionally trained personnel. You will be asked to wear safety eye-wear to protect your eyes from the laser beam. Your laser practitioner will guide the laser hand piece device to the treatment required areas. Each laser pulse may be preceded and followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. A treatment could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour – depending on the area to be treated.

Is the procedure painful?

Candela’s lasers use a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) a patented device – which prepares the skin surface with a spray of cryogen (cold gas) few milli-seconds before the laser pulse. DCD helps to ensure that hair removal treatments are as comfortable as their effectiveness. For some clients a topical anaesthetic may be used prior to the treatment. Be sure to discuss this with our Doctor.

Number of treatment sessions required

Treatment times differ depending on your specific needs. With every laser treatment hair growth is reduced and the number of treatments required will be based on your hair colour, hair type, body area and skin tone.

Preparation for the treatment:

Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax for 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatment. Use of self tanning products must be discontinued one week before the treatment. Wait for sun tanned skin to fade before beginning of the treatment.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after treatment, there should be redness and swelling at the base of the hair shaft, which may last up to 2 hours or even longer. The redness may last up to 2-3 days.
The treated area will feel like a sunburn for few hours after the treatment
We use optional cooling methods after the treatment for comfort.
The hair appears as if it is growing after the treatment but in fact it is shedding hair which would fall off in 1- 4 hours.

Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chances of darker pigmentation of the skin.
Use Sunblock (SPF 30 and above) for protection.

Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment products or similar treatments 4-6 weeks after the laser treatments.
After the treatment of under arms, avoid using deodorants, instead use simple powder to reduce skin irritation.

Any side effects after Laser treatment ?

The most common after-effect is redness of the skin that can last for a day or so. Slight blistering can occur but this is rare and will clear up within a few days. With certain skin types, changes in skin colour can occur and you will be advised of any additional treatment necessary to prevent it. There are no restrictions on bathing, except to treat the skin gently as if you had a sunburn for first 24 hours.

When to come for next session of Laser treatment?

Make an appointment at the first sign of hair growth, this may be 4-6 weeks for the upper body and possibly as long as 2 – 3 months for the lower body.
